VSU Alumni Association

Voronezh State University is proud of its graduates, many of whom are talented scientists, politicians, heads of companies and organizations, and business people.

Today, each of them has their own life, with new achievements, concerns and joys. However, all of us are still united, since we can proudly call ourselves Voronezh State University graduates. Everyone has warm and loving memories of their time at VSU.

The university alumni form a brotherhood of people from their common alma mater that opened the doors into professional life for them.

We try to keep in touch with all the VSU alumni, making them aware of the upcoming events, inviting them to take part in programmes and events organized by the Alumni Association and the University as a whole. They take part in conferences, seminars, symposiums, round-table meetings, master classes, conventions, discussions, counselling sessions, and other theme-based events involving the leading scholars and authorities both on a permanent and temporary basis.

We assist the alumni in meeting each other and their lecturers. In order to do so, we are creating an alumni database.

Donating to VSU

Our benefactors

VSU Endowment Fund registered in 2013 is being added to on an ongoing basis. 115 people have already made contributions. Among them are the university staff, students, graduates, as well as the university partners. A complete list of the contributors can be found on the Fund's website Our Benefactors page.

It is a pleasure to realize that our Fund is known far beyond Russia. At different times, we have received contributions from VSU graduates Sergey Anokhin and Tatiana Anokhina from the USA, Klaus-Dieter Heinze from Germany; Lee Ka – a lecturer from Shandong University in China; OTSL.INC company (Japan); "Atos IT Solutions" company (France), "Pricewaterhousecoopers Audit" company.

Another contributor to the VSU Endowment Fund has been a representative of our partner university – Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster – Dr Jörg Becker, Vice-Rector for strategic planning and quality assurance. Prof. Becker is also Doctor Honoris Causa of Voronezh State University.

Areas that need alumni assistance

The finances that the Endowment Fund receives are aimed at:

• providing grants to the young scholars; covering the research and internship costs;
• providing grants to VSU's leading scientists;
• personalized retirement benefits to VSU's outstanding lecturers and scholars (the benefactor may choose a specific person to receive the benefit);
• a special-purpose contribution to sponsor the education of talented students;
• personalized scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate students;
• purchasing unique equipment for increasing the innovative capacity of the research;
• remote pre-entry training for school leavers;
• organizing academic competitions for VSU applicants;
• supporting the innovative educational Youth Centre for Scientific Creativity;
• developing VSU's Botanical garden (redecorating, publishing a catalogue, etc.);
• developing VSU's bio centre and recreation facility "Venevitinovo"; completing the construction of the new building for winter recreation;
• developing the Galichya Gora nature reserve (financing the redecoration, publishing a photo album, etc.)

Details of payment: donation for the endowment fund under the standard form agreement

Information for contributors from the euro-zone

We have received messages saying that, in order to send money to the Fund's foreign currency account, some European banks requested the IBAN of the beneficiary.  Here is what can be said on this issue:
IBAN is an international number of the beneficiary's account in EU countries and some other states (like Kazakhstan). In Russia, this standard is not valid yet, so Sberbank does not assign this number.

As far as the SWIFT is concerned, the correct one for our region is SUBRUMMVH1.

It should be made clear to the bank clerk that you want to transfer funds to Russia, which is outside the EU. You must fill in a specific form for that.

The approximate equivalents are:

Instead of BIC, you should provide the information from Account with institution.
Instead of IBAN, you should provide the information from Веneficiary customer.
